home

back in the U.S. of A! just in time for independence day.

the last couple of weeks in shanghai were a blur - packing, shipping boxes, repacking, purging, more packing, more purging. squeezed in there as well were social events galore - trying to see as many friends as possible. i think i slept an average of 4 hours per night.

now that i'm home, the last month seems a fuzzy dream. shanghai itself sometimes seems a fuzzy dream. i slept for most of today and will be spending the next couple of weeks helping my parents pack and move to their new house. and then moving myself to nyc.

two images from my last day in shanghai:

 good-bye

 packed and ready to go

and my first image of america!

it's good to be back!

mood:  sleepy, still

cups of coffee:  1 1/2

Welcome home, Eva!! So good to know you're back! Shanghai seems like a fuzzy dream to me too... I was there for only one year, but I can still relate. Best wishes as you take your next steps! So exciting! :)

holy suitcases!!!!! were you able to fly with all of those? did anyone fly with you to check some in under their name! Wowers! Life in Shanghai is like a dream and recedes to the area of dream in the brain. It's so weird how that happens. Hope to see you soon somehow! I'll have to come to NYC!

thanks, friends. it's good to be back. :)
my brother and sister-in-law traveled with me, thankfully, and kindly allocated most of their baggage space to me. after shipping 3 boxes home, i'm proud to say i was able to squeeze everything else into the allotted luggage allowance without going over!
it was a miracle.
